Week 11 my stuctured Garment PT2

With my final garment i was inspired by victorian clothing,Mainly because of the style of the jacket. reminded me of the olden days.

I chose to pleat on my chosen material because it is a style tathas been aroud for years and give a od feel to a garment.

I used the lining of a diffeent jacket to create a pleat look neck design. 

I feel that this completed the look and gave it the victorian feel.

I was very plaesed with the outcome of my structured garment, i feel that it was unique and carefully thought out, i dint try to complicate things but i put  effort and time into it.

week 10 My structured Garment pt1

Finall we came to the end ofthe project which we had a choice. We had to make a wearable garment out any of the techniques used in our previous lessons.

I chose to work with deconstructing and pleating. I chose deconstructing because it was something that i had never done before but i found it real fasinating and interesting to see how you can turn the old into the new 

I Also chose to do pleating because i found i needed more work on it and i enjoyed seeing the end product of pleates.

Week 9 Draping

Creating a simple bodice on  the stand was the first part of this project. The reason for making this item was to be able to have a base to drape fabric from. A piece of calico 30cm x 40cm was applied onto the tailors dummy.
